The water crew

Tinian had a water problem: there was a leak in one of the major water lines to the village.

It had been leaking a little for some time, as could be seen by water coming up out of the ground, seemingly from knowwhere. When they finally decided it had gotten bad enough it needed to be repaired, this is what they found: one of the connections between two pipes had failed, and water had begun to be released.

In spite of all of their efforts to find the exact part to replace the one that broke, the system was so old, know one made the parts anymore! This meant they had to get creative!

With ingenuity and speed, they were able to somehow repair, or adapt, or actually creat a new part for this water valve/connection! Great job!

Terri and I also traveled up to see the new casino. The paper had said that the decision had been made to stop all work at the casino until the question of what will happen in June (when the Federal government takes over immigration) is answered.
If the worst happens, and the Feds don't let foriegn workers in, or let them stay... where will Tinian get the workers to complete the Casino, or the workers to man the Casino? So they have decided to shut down work until they find out what will happen. As excited as we are about the new casino, I guess this is a wise move.
On another front, if the Feds stick to their demand that everyone from Russia and China must apply for a restrictive Visa (the Dynasty Casino is owned by the Chinese, and most of its visitors are Chinese), even the existing casino is threatened!
Life can certainly change on a dime: Just a few months ago Tinian was having to gear-up for an increase in development and a population increase, as three new casinos were slated to begin construction on the island. Now, everyone is holding their breaths!
One of my readers suggested gray-scale... I don't know... I think I like the color better.
